The lower half carries the shimmer of a diamond-quilted cross pattern, while the upper portion is finished in flat smooth mesh — two textures sitting side by side in a single piece. A slim gold chain strap is attached, allowing the bag to be carried as a shoulder bag or held as a clutch when the chain is tucked inside.

The interior tag reads “MESH AUSTRALIA STYLE” alongside the “OB” brand logo. Between the 1950s and 1980s, Australia was the world’s centre of mesh evening bags. Alongside the major names — Oroton, Glomesh, Whiting & Davis — many Australian makers shaped the evening wardrobes of women across the world, leading Europe and America in this craft.
