Hello, I’m Akane Sato,
owner and curator of flemington vintage.

My journey with vintage began in Melbourne, Australia, where I spent most of my childhood.

I volunteered at a church charity shop,
surrounded by donated clothing, objects, and jewellery.
Vintage shop owners would often visit quietly to source pieces.

Watching objects that had lived through someone’s time
move gently into the hands of someone new
shaped the way I see beauty.

In 2016, I moved to Japan and founded flemington vintage that summer.

In Tokyo, I was deeply impressed by the quality of vintage apparel.
Yet I felt something was missing —
accessories that could truly accompany those garments.

So I began selecting them myself.

Since then, I have continued sourcing primarily from Europe and Australia,
choosing pieces in person whenever possible.

What matters to me is:

• history and background
• craftsmanship that endures
• pieces that feel natural to who you are now

Not impulse,
but a choice you can quietly justify to yourself.

flemington vintage exists to support that kind of decision.

Through jewellery,
I hope to share the richness of vintage culture and time —
in a way that feels calm and considered.
