Damascene (damasquinado in Spanish) is a highly refined decorative technique in which delicate patterns are engraved into metal and precious metals are meticulously inlaid into the surface.
Against a darkened steel background, fine threads of 24K gold are hammered into place by hand, creating quiet depth rather than overt brilliance.
