Damascene, or damasquinado, is a traditional Spanish gold inlay technique historically associated with Toledo. Fine patterns are engraved into steel, and 24K gold is carefully hammered into the incised surface. The effect relies not on shine, but on precision, contrast, and structural depth.

Against the darkened ground, gold lines rise with quiet clarity. The depth emerges from the density and layering of engraving, visible especially at close range.
