Less a wristwatch than a piece of jewellery that happens to keep time. The Seiko Rivoli, introduced in 1997, belongs to an era when Seiko set out to reimagine the watch as an accessory. Its asymmetrical case, shaped like a leaf caught mid-turn, flows seamlessly into the bangle, with the dial resting quietly within that curve.

The case and bangle are gold-tone stainless steel. Angled facets catch the light as the wrist moves, shifting the surface from bright to soft. The silver dial carries only dot markers and slender gold hands — designed less for reading the time than for carrying it gracefully.

In the hand, it holds the reassuring weight of a bangle while keeping a delicate 10mm line. The case measures just about 14mm across, so on the wrist it reads closer to a ring or bracelet than a watch. A glimpse of it at the cuff is enough to bring an outfit together.

Wear it alone, or layered with a fine bracelet. It suits a dress occasion, but it is on plain-shirt and knitwear days that the curve does its quietest work. This is 1990s Seiko at its most experimental and refined, made to be carried into everyday life.

The condition is excellent for a vintage piece, with only faint surface marks from normal wear that do not affect its overall presence.
