The Italian Médaille Pendant Necklace Collection: Miraculous Medal

“O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.”

Among the medailles displayed at a quiet church market, this piece held a deep, composed blue — the Miraculous Medal of the Immaculate Conception.

Around the edge, it reads:

“O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.”

The design originates from the 1830 apparition to Saint Catherine Labouré in Paris and has since been faithfully reproduced across generations.

This example was crafted in Italy between the 1950s and 1980s.
Measuring approximately 2cm in height and 1.5cm in width, it carries a reassuring metal presence.

The blue enamel reveals depth under light, while the figure of Mary stands in gentle relief.
At her feet, the serpent symbolizes quiet victory over evil.

The reverse shows the cross above the letter M, two hearts, and twelve stars — a composition structured by meaning rather than ornament.

It does not insist on belief.
It offers steadiness.

Paired with a new 925 sterling silver chain (approx. 45cm), it rests naturally at the collarbone and integrates easily into contemporary styling.
