On the wrist, it carries a quiet kind of presence. The case is small — nineteen millimetres, square, unhurried. It doesn’t announce itself. But catch it at the right angle and the gold shifts in the light.

The bezel is carved with Dior’s cannage motif — the woven cane pattern drawn from the chairs at the house’s first show on Avenue Montaigne in 1947, the same motif that runs through the Lady Dior bag. Here it frames the small square face, one weave all the way around.

In light, the carving holds shadow. The gold deepens, then lifts. The white dial keeps only two hands — nothing to read past the time itself. A quartz lightness, with the density of something older.

It isn’t new, and doesn’t pretend to be. But something that has passed through time and still keeps moving holds a calm that new things don’t. If it feels right for where you are now, it’s an easy one to choose.
