Born from the octagonal outline of the Place Vendôme in Paris — Chanel’s very first wristwatch.

The Première was introduced in 1987. Its eight-sided case is said to echo both the shape of the Place Vendôme and the cap of the No.5 perfume bottle. The bracelet, with leather threaded through a gold chain, carries the same signature as the 2.55 bag. It is a watch designed to live on the wrist like a bracelet, as much as to tell the time.

The black dial keeps nothing it doesn’t need — no indices, just two gold hands marking the hour. Catch it in the light and the faceted crystal shifts slightly, returning a quiet depth. The contrast between the gold chain and the black leather woven through it settles on the wrist with a calm, assured weight.

Striking, but never loud. This is a watch for the moment it appears at the cuff of a jacket. Black and gold ask nothing of what you wear, sitting naturally within everyday dress. The bracelet adjusts by link, so it can be set close to the wrist.
