Vintage Art Nouveau Design Earrings

A lucite drop earring from the 1980s, found in Australia. The cascading silhouette draws on Art Nouveau forms — organic, flowing, with delicate 18KGP metalwork running through the structure. It moves beautifully, the kind of earring you notice in motion as much as at rest.

The amber tone of the lucite is translucent rather than solid, which gives a piece this size an airiness it wouldn't otherwise have. The colour shifts depending on the light — deeper in shadow, warmer and more luminous when the light catches it. The craftsmanship in the metalwork is the kind you only find in pieces made before everything was produced at scale.

Wear with denim for the contrast — vintage glamour against something casual. With a maxi dress or slip dress the Art Nouveau quality comes through fully. In autumn and winter, structured tailoring or velvet gives it the weight it deserves.

Some pieces don't whisper — they speak. Éclat is a collection of vintage accessories defined not by era or origin, but by presence. Bold forms, vivid colour, craftsmanship that catches the light and holds it. For the days when understated simply isn't enough.
