Damascene, or damasquinado, is a traditional Spanish gold inlay technique historically associated with Toledo. Fine patterns are engraved into steel, and 24K gold is carefully hammered into the grooves. The motifs are not printed; they are carved and inlaid by hand.

Against the darkened steel surface, gold lines build the composition. The character of the piece comes from structure and contrast rather than shine. Up close, the density of engraving and the precision of the inlaid lines are clearly visible.

The “Julia” earrings feature a double circular motif with birds and floral elements arranged in a balanced composition. Though rich in detail, the design remains controlled and architectural.

At 5g per earring, they offer gentle movement and a grounded presence. Not overpowering, yet not easily overlooked.
