What makes these earrings particular is the structural meeting of the rhinestone dome above and the pearl below. The top is a half-sphere of gold, set across its curved surface with small rhinestones placed one by one. Pavé setting on a curved surface — rather than a flat one — is exacting work for the maker, and the reward is that light reflects across the dome from many directions at once, the small individual sparks gathering into something that reads almost as a single, larger glow. The arc of the form follows the line of the earlobe, settling naturally against the ear when worn — quiet design intelligence.

The pearl that swings below is full and rounded, sitting in deliberate contrast to the harder brilliance above.
