Vintage Omega De Ville Cocktail Watch, 1969

A small cocktail watch from Omega’s De Ville line, made in 1969. The De Ville was Omega’s dress collection — watches designed less for the wrist of an engineer and more for an evening out. This piece, at just 15 mm across, belongs firmly to that world.

The tonneau case is framed by a finely ridged bezel, and the faceted cut glass is the quiet centrepiece: as the wrist moves, the crystal catches and scatters light across the silver dial. It is the kind of detail that reads as jewellery first, watch second.

The dial itself is restrained — slender baton indexes, the Omega mark, nothing more. It sits on a textured leather strap in deep brown, which keeps the overall impression soft rather than formal.

Inside is Omega’s hand-wound movement, fully overhauled and running at approximately +30 seconds per day — a sound figure for a mechanical watch of this age. Winding it each morning becomes part of the ritual of wearing it.
