1928 is an American jewellery brand founded in California in 1968. For more than half a century, its makers have collected actual antique pieces and revived their designs using time-honoured methods, hand enameling included — a rarity today. The name itself is a nod to the glamour of that era.
Look closely and the two earrings are not quite identical. The flowers are painted by hand, and each brushstroke carries its own small movement — the kind of liveliness no printed pattern can hold. Pink and blue blossoms sit on a deep black ground, framed in ornate gold like a pair of tiny paintings for the ears.
For anyone who prefers the trace of a human hand over machine-made uniformity, that slight asymmetry is exactly the charm. Small enough to stay quiet, expressive enough to be noticed — hair up or down, they bring a painted garden into an ordinary day.
