A small piece of jewellery for the wrist — a Seiko ladies quartz watch, the 15mm round case held within a sculpted gold chain.

The case is a small round. A champagne gold dial carries modest dot indexes and fine gold hands, with the SEIKO name placed quietly at the centre. A reduced dial that lets the ornamental lugs on either side of the case do the speaking.

At the lugs, flower-like motifs hold red ruby-toned stones at four points. From there, the bracelet extends as a twisted gold chain — strands of metal woven together, following the wrist with a softness and depth that a simple chain cannot give. A safety chain completes the careful construction.

A watch with the air of antique jewellery. The small bright moment that appears when a sleeve is turned back.

This piece carries the marks of its years. The bracelet shows some lifting of the gold plating, small areas of green patina, light scuffs and traces of wear. The crystal also has small surface scuffs. The watch is currently running.
